PHOTOBLOG 8: August 2022

Writer: Rory DinwoodieRory Dinwoodie

This month's photoblog features a range of shots from Cornwall and North Spain. All of the Cornwall shots were taken on my Nikonos V 35mm underwater camera with Kodak Portra 400.. Most of these pictures capture summer surfs and swims fitted in around work whilst the shots from Spain show some highlights from a short trip back to Anero where I finished my cycle earlier in the year (photoblog still to come for that big trip).

PART 1: SNORKELLING AT PORT QUIN

Whilst I have got good use out of my Nikonos V for surf photography, I have made very little use of it for photography under the surface. In part this is because there isn't much to sea in the murky Atlantic waters, but this summer we were graced a few weeks of extremely clear water and fair weather making for some great snorkelling opportunities.

PART II: SPAIN

I managed to squeeze in a quick trip back out to Cantabria to break up the bar work and see Leti in mid-August. It was nice to have a change of scene and escape the UK heatwave in the green hills and beaches of Spain's north coast. We also had a fair amount of time just relaxing, socialising and enjoying holiday mode.

PART III: FAREWELL TO CORNWALL

Once back from Spain, I only had a few weeks left in Cornwall before heading back 'up country' to Bath. The sun largely stuck around and we had a few great swims and surfs to finish off another great season working down South.

Thanks for reading and see you in the next one covering some surfing and hiking in France and Spain, my eventual move up to London and the final end to what has been a bit of an endless summer.
