After over a year since my last photoblog, I have decided to revive this page and return to presenting my photography through these blogs. There was nothing quite like a recent trip to Morocco with 4 rolls of Kodak film to reignite my love for photography and sharing images. This blogs features the highlights from the souks and hidden corners of Marrakech along with the vast scenery of the High Atlas Mountains and Imlil valley.

PART I: The Souks
Anyone who has had the privilege of travelling to Marrakech before will know the beautiful chaos of the Medina and its traditional souks. Thinly packed streets and corridors filled floor to ceiling with spices, lanterns, leather goods, endless supplies of mint tea and vast Moroccan rugs - all of which you wish you could take back home if only you had packed a bigger bag.
Capturing this chaos was not necessarily an easy task - dodging incoming mopeds, chickens and a multitude of cats ranging in crustiness. However, the range of colours on show and the ease in which layers of subjects could so easily be stacked upon each other made photographing the souks irresistible, especially on Kodak's finest colour film - Portra 400.

PART II: Escaping the chaos
Tucked away behind the chaos of the main square and the souks are many pockets of calm within Marrakech's ancient walls. From grand palaces to secret gardens and small corner terraces, these spots were a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the main streets.

PART III: Atlas Mountains
Morocco is home to North Africa's highest mountain; Toubkal. A chance to head out on a day trip to the beautiful Imlil valley and explore some of Morocco's Atlas mountain region couldn't be missed.
